LTWC received its first bear cub of the season on Memorial Day (May 28). The little cub, shown here, was found on the Hoopa Indian Reservation in Humboldt County, after its mother was killed.
Dr. Willits gave the cub a full examination and found only a couple of ticks, which is great news for this little guy!
We’ll keep you posted on his progress.

Read the article on the bear cub on Huffington Post, and in it they asked for a name. Sort of. For some reason, I got to think of African names. An African name for a Californian bear cub? Anyhow, lots of beautiful names in the link below. I fell for Jengo.

What a pretty lil bear. Sorry you lost your mom little one but you are where you will be safe and cared for!
Already saw some pictures that Linda took and posted on Facebook and by looking at one I can say we have a spider monkey in the house again! Love it!
