To ALL LTWC supporters,
Here we are again. The forest service is ready to have its ‘public comment period’ on the Old Meyers Landfill and what its intended ‘use’ will be. LTWC again needs your support, both physically and verbally.
On Thursday, June 14, the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (Forest Service in South Lake Tahoe) will be holding a public meeting starting at 5:30pm at the Forest Supervisors Office located at 35 College Drive in South Lake Tahoe (located directly behind the Main Post Office)! If you support LTWC and our idea to build a new wildlife park and rehab center at the site, PLEASE, take a few hours and attend this meeting and let the forest service people know this is what this community wants.
For the past year, representatives from the city and El Dorado County have been working with the Forest Service to have LTWC build a NEW wildlife rehabilitation facility AND park (for non-releasable native wildlife), along with a state of the art Educational Center for locals and visitors of the Tahoe Basin. The LTWC Board has assisted with information and plans for the proposed project.
This is a good proposal and something which would be a positive factor for this community, county, region and state.
Please plan to attend, bring family and friends and speak YOUR peace on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 5:30pm. For more information, please contact Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care at 530-577-CARE (577-2273) or go to our web site at www.ltwc.org.
Thank you for your continued support.
Tom Millham, Secretary/Treasurer
Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care, Inc.
